CHEM SHOW '99: A cold jacketed Wet Electrostatic Precipitator, Condensing WESP, incorporates a prescrubbing section to eliminate odor, while an associated cooling tower continuously cools the scrubbing liquid to maintain odor control at the highest level of performance. The precipitator itself achieves zero opacity by removing smoke, and with the addition of a steam coil, eliminates any visible moisture plume.

Amploying discoveries in aerosol physics, the Condensing WESP superimposes electrical and thermodynamic fields on particles for increased collection efficiency. Condensation provides even, uniform liquid film formation for complete coverage of the collection surface without disturbance to the electric field (such as arcs and sparks caused by spray wetting). It also has an excellent electric system, transmitting 85% of electric energy supplied into the gas stream, vs. 40% for a conventional electrostatic precipitator (ESP).

Continuous self-cleaning with minimum pressure drop minimizes maintenance, lowers operating cost and reduces downtime, while increasing equipment life.
