Vogel IC Series ISO 5199 Chemical Process Pump

Source: Goulds Pumps/Industrial Pumps Division
The IC series is designed in accordance with ISO 5199 and ISO 2858, making it ideal for worldwide chemical or industrial process applications.
A new series of chemical process pumps designated the Vogel IC series is now available from Goulds Pumps. The IC series is designed in accordance with ISO 5199 and ISO 2858, making it ideal for worldwide chemical or industrial process applications. The IC pump range includes 30 sizes, which are capable of flows up to 450 m3/h and heads up to 150m. IC pumps are suitable for service temperatures ranging from -40°C to 177°C and operating pressures up to 16 bar.

Developed by a global team of engineers from Goulds Pumps (USA), Richter Chemie-Technik (Germany) and Vogel Pumpen (Austria), all ITT Industries companies, the IC series has been designed to reduce customer Life Cycle Cost. Utilizing a modular design, the IC pump offers broad hydraulic coverage while minimizing the number of components for reduced maintenance and inventory cost.

The IC Series features world-class hydraulic designs selected from ITT Industries vast portfolio of proven pump hydraulic designs. The hydraulic components include a precision cast, enclosed impeller for maximum efficiency, low NPSH and reduced hydraulic loads. Optional casing wear rings are also available to renew pump performance and extend pump life.

IC pumps are fitted with a patented seal chamber design called the Cyclone seal chamber, which has been proven to provide the optimum sealing environment for extended mechanical seal life. The Cyclone seal chamber features an oversized tapered bore seal chamber with two helical grooves cast in the seal cavity. The helical grooves prevent solids and vapors often present in process liquids from accumulating in the seal area while the open, tapered bore design provides for effective cooling of the seal faces, often without the use of seal flushing system.

The power frame behind the IC pumps features a large capacity oil sump and a heavy-duty stainless steel shaft. Up to three times larger than most designs, the large oil sump acts to lower oil temperatures resulting in extended bearing life. The rigid stainless steel shaft offers corrosion resistant power transmission while limiting shaft deflection for reliable shaft sealing.

A wide range of shaft sealing solutions is offered for the IC pump to provide effective sealing for all types of processes. Comprised of conventional or cartridge type seals, in either single or dual configuration, the ideal shaft sealing solution for the most demanding services can be provided. Also available is a proprietary mechanical seal, designed exclusively for the IC pumps to further optimize sealing performance when fitted with the Cyclone seal chamber. A complete range of auxiliary seal flush/ support systems is also available for severe or environmentally sensitive applications.

A host of options including suction inducers, heating jackets and Hydrovar, ITT Industries' patented pumping controller, gives the IC pump flexibility to meet the needs of demanding process applications and to further reduce pumping life cycle cost.

The IC series is available in a comprehensive range of materials, which are compatible with most liquids to provide long pump life and reliable performance. Materials available include ductile iron, 316 Stainless Steel, Duplex Stainless, Alloy 20, Hast-C and Titanium.
