Valvoline Implements ERP System Phase in Under a Month

Marcam Solutions, Inc. (Newton, MA) says that Valvoline Argentina, a South American division of one of the world's largest motor oil manufacturers, has successfully implemented the first phase of its Prism solution in less than one month. Due to the success of the implementation, Valvoline plans to license Prism for other Latin American operations in Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela.

"We were looking for a flexible process ERP solution that could quickly and cost-effectively manage our business processes," said Patrick Gerring, business manager for Valvoline International. "We also required a solution that could be rapidly deployed to meet the immediate needs of our growing division."

Prism, a comprehensive product line consisting of 35 integrated applications, is Marcam's application suite for process manufacturing companies using the IBM AS/400. Prism incorporates design features, such as the patented Production Model, that differentiate it from traditional manufacturing application software. Marcam says that Prism helps enterprises increase operational efficiency, improve customer service and bring new products to market faster, leading to increased return on investment and a lower total cost of ownership.

Other process industries users include ARCO Chemical, BASF, Engelhard, Molson Breweries, Ralston Purina and Warner-Lambert.
