Tredegar In Negotiations To Acquire Exxon Chemical's Plastic Films Business

Tredegar Industries has entered into discussions with Exxon Chemical Co. regarding the potential acquisition of Exxon's plastic film business. Details regarding any potential agreement, purchase price or anticipated closing date have not been disclosed.

Exxon Chemical's Film Division operates plants in Pottsville, PA and Lake Zurich, IL. The Division manufactures films used primarily in diapers, feminine hygiene products, packaging and medical markets.

Tredegar's Film Products division is a major producer of plastic films used in diapers and feminine hygiene products as well as a variety of other packaging, medical, industrial and agricultural markets. The Company operates six films plants and a technical center in the U.S. and has plants in the Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina and China.
