Thermolite 400 is a solid organotin carboxylate PVC heat stabilizer that combines improved weatherability and good processability for high performance, rigid PVC exterior building products.

Available in granulated form, the product offers improved weatherability over conventional tin mercaptide stabilizers and good processability compared to conventional tin carboxylate stabilizers. It has good dynamic stability and is suitable for use in high-output twin screw capstock extruders. Additionally, its easy handling solid form can lead to improved heat distortion temperatures.

Typical applications for Thermolite 400 include vinyl siding capstock, rigid translucent sheet and foamed sheet. It is suitable as an improved weathering stabilizer alternative for colored vinyl siding, especially in colors that are normally problem performers. Additionally, it shows promise as a stabilizer in products that require a solid, non-odorous stabilizer system such as flooring and flexible product applications. Thermolite 400 can be used for mixed metal and tin mercaptide applications.

The company's full line of Thermolite heat stabilizers is used in the production of rigid, semi-rigid, foamed and flexible PVC products. PVC heat stabilizers find their main applications in pipes and fittings, siding and profiles, bottles, film and sheet packaging, and custom injection molding.
