The company offers the Sandwich Block line of transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS), providing sensitive systems with effective protection against debilitating transient voltages (surges) and overvoltages. It can quickly control any surge or overvoltage that man or nature has to offer- it has been designed to withstand up to 1,280,000 amps per phase without destruction or potentially compromising the protected system.

This product line meets the recently implemented UL 1449 Second Edition standards on its own- without gimmicks such as "intrinsically safe MOVs" or the use of an explosionproof cabinet. The notion of "intrinsically safe MOVs" is actually a misnomer for the use of MOVs that are rated for a higher voltage than should be used for a given suppressor device. The use of these "super-rated" MOVs may help the device pass UL 1449 Second Edition, however it also raises the clamping voltage of the suppressor/ As a result, the protected systems are vulnerable when the suppressor is unable to clamp an incoming surge at a safe level. In effect, a suppressor with "intrinsically safe MOVs" works to save the suppressor device from self-destruction (and thus can pass safety regulations such as UL), yet comprises the system it is supposed to protect.

The company's engineers developed the Sandwich Block with a redundant safety mechanism to ensure total protection from surges and overvoltages without the use of super-rated MOVs or explosionproof containers. With its unique arrangement of MOVs and innovative MOV packaging technology, the surge suppressors are designed for ultra-fast reaction times, low clamp ratio and high reliability. The modular concept keeps the footprint small, while the integral heat sink dissipates heat efficiently. With energy handling capabilities up to 50k joules, this module is designed to extendedd service, while the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of the protected equipment is maximized.
