Supercritical Fluid Chromatography Systems
Our systems use inexpensive and non-toxic CO2 as the mobile phase, instead of large volumes of solvent. Furthermore, high pressure CO2, due to its lower viscosity, moves through the stationary phase at higher speed and at lower back pressures; thus expediting the separation. The ability to achieve tunable density by manipulating pressure and temperature provides a wide range of solubility that can be further enhanced by using co-solvents for polar separations. Because CO2 turns gaseous at low pressures, preparative SFC facilitates high recoveries, efficient cleaning, and leaves higher-purity material behind. Thar Technologies is a pioneer in Preparative SFC systems, having deployed the first commercial SFC ever in the pharmaceutical industry in 1994.
