Solutia Begins Skydrol Production At Anniston, Ala., Plant

New Location Offers State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Capabilities

St. Louis - Solutia Inc. announced today that the production of its Skydrol aviation hydraulic fluids and SkyKleen aviation cleaning solvents has begun at a new, state-of-the-art facility at the company's Anniston, Ala. plant. Construction of the new facility began in late 2005.

"The Anniston plant provides Skydrol customers with the latest production technology available," said Dale Kline, global business director, Specialty Fluids, Solutia Inc. "Solutia's investment in the new production location is another example of how the company is committed to the Skydrol business and how Skydrol is committed to continuously re-inventing reliability and performance in support of the aviation industry."

The new facility is certified to ISO 9001:2000, the globally recognized standard for quality assurance. The ISO 9001 certification standard is one of the most comprehensive of the approximately 13,000 ISO standards and is a model for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. The new Skydrol manufacturing facility is also AS-9100 compliant and meets quality system requirements for aerospace industry suppliers as certified by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). "Shipments of Skydrol from Anniston will be certified that the product meets airframe manufacturer and aviation industry specifications," added Kline.

Skydrol is the world's most advanced line of aviation hydraulic fluids, which are approved by airframe manufacturers specifying fire-resistant hydraulic fluids. The brand has been part of the commercial aviation industry's commitment to safety, reliability, and excellence in performance for more than 57 years.
