Siemens To Introduce New Line of Compact Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

Siemens Industry Inc., Drive Technologies, will debut the new 2BV7 line of compact liquid ring vacuum pumps during National Manufacturing Week, March 13-16 in Chicago. Twenty percent smaller than other available pumps in its class, the new line reduces operating liquid consumption by up to 50 percent.
With reduced dimensions, the 2BV7 takes up less space and is easier to install than a traditional pump. Its stainless steel and bronze design resists wear and corrosion. The 2BV7's motors are equipped with ample power reserves, enough to pump up to eight times as much operating water as under regular circumstances. In addition, the pump is easy to maintain and can be disassembled without disconnecting it from a system.
The versatile 2BV7 serves five primary market applications. General industrial use includes evacuating vessels and condensation water, water priming, vacuum filtration and distillation. In the plastics industry, the 2BV7 is ideal for extruding plastics (de-gassing), polystyrene foaming, and for use on calibration tables. For medical, the 2BV7 can be used for hospital sterilization systems, wet systems for dental chairs, and central vacuum systems for hospital operating theatres. In food and beverage, the 2BV7 can be used for bottle filling lines, liquid de-gassing, food conservation systems and vacuum cooking stations. The pump also is effective in chemical impregnation, a process commonly used in wood processing.
Environmentally friendly, the 2BV7 saves significant amounts of water while improving flow conditions. Integrated cavitation protection reduces noise pollution so that additional noise-dampening measures are not required.
Ideal for demanding operations that require high-vacuum levels, and available in several sizes with varying capacities, each model can achieve a vacuum of 28 ½ inches of mercury.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., Siemens Energy & Automation (SE&A) manufactures and markets the world's broadest range of electrical and electronic products, systems and services to industrial and construction market customers.
