RPP Pipe Supports & Bellows (Pty) Limited (RPP) commenced operations on the 1st October 1999 after successfully negotiating the purchase of Rotek Process Products (Pty) Limited from Rotek Industries (Pty) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ESKOM.

The Shareholders of RPP are Torre Technologies (Pty) Limited, a 100 percent black-owned company, together with several of the operational managers of Rotek Process Products.

Each of these managers has specific expertise and wide experience in their respective fields.

Included in the purchase agreement is the transfer of both the Carpenter & Paterson Limited and the Pipe Supports Limited licenses to manufacture their entire range of pipe suspension equipment. The Carpenter & Paterson (WITCH) range of products is by far the most popular in Southern Africa. There are very few process, petrochemical, and power generation plants which do not have some of these products. The Pipe Supports Limited (COMET) range has been extensively used at the Koeberg and Kendal Power Stations.

RPP also manufacture a wide range of expansion bellows or compensators, generally to suit clients' specific requirements. The range includes metallic, rubber and fabric bellows, as well as metallic flexible hoses.

RPP fully qualifies as a black economic empowerment company (BEE), meeting the requirements of parastatal organisations such as ESKOM, Transnet, etc. The quality assurance procedures are designed around, and generally meet, the requirements of ISO 9000.

In addition to the manufacture of these products, RPP carry out maintenance and refurbishment of all makes of constant load hangers, variable spring hangers and hydraulic shock absorbers. Site inspections, elevation surveys, in situ load test, as well as the installation of products, are also undertaken. Pipe stress analysis work is offered, as well as assistance in the design of supporting requirements of piping systems.

All designs carried out by RPP comply strictly with internationally recognised standards such as EJMA (Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association), MSS SP 58, MSS SP 69, ASME IX and BS 3974.

In recent months, products have been supplied not only within South Africa, but also into the neighbouring countries of Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
