Rigidex I and Rigidex II

Rigidex I and Rigidex II fiberglass moltruded gratings from Fibergrate are the first gratings to combine the high performance of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) molded and pultruded grating construction with the low cost of metal. With the introduction of these revolutionary products, a new class of grating is now available to meet the needs of both pedestrian and industrial use.

Rigidex I is engineered to be a pedestrian grating; lighter than metal, molded or pultruded grating. Though lighter, this remarkable grating offers excellent stiffness characteristics while maintaining a high level of corrosion resistance. Featuring over 79% open area, Rigidex I meets a number of safety and operational considerations by providing for high volume ventilation and airflow, increased visibility, and light penetration. The large open area of Rigidex I, combined with its unique one-piece, unitized construction, also allows for thorough cleaning.

Rigidex II also features one-piece unitized construction, but with an engineered "T" shaped load bar design for added strength. This advanced design allows Rigidex II to span even longer distances and carry greater loads. In fact, its load and deflection capabilities are comparable to pultruded grating, but at a far less cost. Rigidex II, while having less open area, still provides very good ventilation and visibility. Rigidex II, with no greater than 1/2" spacing between load bars, is also ADA compliant.

Both Rigidex products are gritted, providing for a slip-resistant surface adding even greater safety in slippery environments. These benefits along with lower installation costs due to its lightweight properties and its long maintenance-free life, Rigidex is a safe, cost-efficient grating alternative.
