RIA 251Process Indicator/Display

January 24, 2001, Greenwood, Indiana – Two new process indicators, the RIA 250 and RIA 251, offer users an economical and compact alternative for meeting their process display needs.
The RIA 251 offers display features only and is certified for use in hazardous areas. The RIA 250 is a process display unit with control functions including linearization, alarm contacts, and re-transmission. Endress+Hauser is launching both indicators during the first quarter of 1999, augmenting a complete line of system components that provide the important link between the control room and the field.
The RIA 250 features a single multifunction input channel. All normal measurement signals can be directly connected (bipolar voltage and current, thermocouple, RTD). The single channel provides a presettable scale with variable inputs – 4-20 mA, 100 mV, 10 V, T/Cs and RTDs. The RIA 251 accepts the current input measurement range (4 to 20 mA).
On both of the new units the NEMA 4 protected display features a five-digit numeric LED display that shows the active measured value. The RIA 250 also offers a bar graph and limit indicators.
A loop-power unit, the RIA 250 provides power to the transmitter while displaying the transmitter's measurement. The RIA 251 is powered by the transmitter current loop while displaying the transmitter's measurement.
With an RS-232 serial communication port, the display set up for the RIA 250 can be configured or modified using a PC with Endress+Hauser's ReadWin application software running on MS-Windows 3.1/95/NT.
Since the standard power supply range is 90 - 253 V, 50/60 Hz, the RIA 250 can be universally applied to almost any application. Small and compact, the unit is extremely attractive for panel and OEM applications.
