PerkinElmer Announces New Analytical Solutions And Services At PITTCON 2007
Introduces 14 New Application-Focused Offerings
Chicago - PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader in Health Sciences and Photonics, is introducing its latest analytical solutions at PITTCON 2007, February 26-March 2. The new offerings are designed to help scientists advance the pace and precision of research and testing in a wide range of market segments including environmental, hydrocarbon processing and biofuels, forensics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and chemical quality control.
"Our product development efforts are focused in two areas - tailoring our solutions to specific customer applications to drive increased productivity, and expanding the breadth of our technologies and services," said Robert F. Friel, president of PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences. "The new products being introduced at this year's Pittsburgh Conference are excellent examples of how we are delivering on this strategy."
The new, application-focused solutions that are being showcased include:
- The new Clarus 600 Gas Chromatograph (GC) and Clarus(R) 600 Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) with novel oven technology enabling the fastest injection-to-injection time in a conventional GC while reducing cycle time and significantly increasing sample throughput. The Clarus 600 GC was designed for the full spectrum of GC users, including environmental, independent testing, forensics, petrochemicals and chemical quality-control laboratories. The new family of Clarus 600 GC/MS is powered by the novel oven, delivers best-in-class performance and supports the same segments as the Clarus 600 GC, along with applications for food and fragrance analysis.
- Other GC innovations include four Biodiesel Gas Chromatography Turnkey Systems that provide the rapidly growing biofuels industry with high-quality analyzers for the verification of pure biodiesel to meet ASTM and European standards.
- The new qVisc 4320 AX Autosampler Viscometer, now available from PerkinElmer under a distribution agreement with The Fluid Life Corporation, expands PerkinElmer's used oil analysis solutions and delivers unprecedented throughput and automation.
- The new Spectrum 400 is the latest infrared tool to combine optimized near-infrared (NIR) and optimized mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy in a single research-grade instrument with push-button switching for troubleshooting, method and product development and routine analyses in the chemicals and materials, pharmaceutical and academic segments.
- The RamanStation 400, PerkinElmer's first in a series of new Raman instrumentation, offers unprecedented ease-of-use, allowing faster data collection, more uptime and greater reproducibility for users in academia and drug discovery.
Other new products and services include:
- Spectrum Express Software - An easy-to-use software program for the Spectrum family of instruments that allows users to complete analyses faster with minimal user training needed. Users in the chemicals and materials, pharmaceutical and academic segments simply "walk up and measure."
- DMA 8000 - An easy-to-use, flexible and powerful Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) for thermal analysis of materials' bulk properties for the polymers, composites, pharmaceutical and food industries.
- Improved Workflow Management features for LABWORKS(TM) LIMS 6.0 - A new graphical workflow editor for tailoring and testing changes to the default workflow.
- PerkinElmer SCIEX ELAN(R) v3.4 Software - Fully automated and easy-to-use software for Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) helps increase consistency of performance and efficiencies for high-productivity laboratories including environmental, chemical and geochemical laboratories, and laboratories in the food, nutrition and semiconductor industries.
- OneSource Laboratory Services - Representatives from PerkinElmer's proven laboratory management and maintenance solution will be on-hand to provide information on its recently expanded offerings, including its new laboratory relocation service and enhanced multi-vendor support capabilities.
