The new nozzle type separator HDE 200 from GEA Westfalia Separator has been especially designed for ethanol recovery from sugar and molasses. This machine is an advanced version of the HDD 80, which is well established in this market segment for decades. One feature of the new separator is the larger capacity compared to the HDD. Moreover, the HDE 200 makes for a very high efficiency in the production process. And this is due to its specific design concept: the new nozzle separator comes with a self-ejection system which is an absolute innovation in this field. Up to now, every nozzle centrifuge used for the clarification of the fermentation broth in Brazilian ethanol factories for instance has to be cleaned by hand. For this purpose the machines have to be shut down, opened, dismantled, cleaned, reassembled, connected and then restarted. This is where the big advantage of the new HDE 200 from GEA Westfalia Separator comes into play: solids ejection and cleaning are performed fully automatically. By means of the annular piston the bowl is opened at full operating speed, thus carrying out partial and total ejections automatically, without needing manual assistance. Consequently, the solids can be removed during operation at regular intervals just by briefly opening the annular piston. Also cleaning can be done by pressing a button instead of time-consuming manual operation. For cleaning, hot water is pumped through the separator and the connected system. Then the feed is closed and a total bowl ejection is carried out at full operating speed. While the annular gap is being opened wide, strong liquid turbulence develops inside the bowl which considerably improves the flushing effect on the product-contacting parts. When cleaning is finished the HDE 200 can be easily switched over again to keep on clarifying the fermentation broth. Click Here To Download:
