New Stainless Steel Vacuum Reactor System Has Working Capacity of 500 Cu. Ft.
This new Paul 0. Abbe Model RCVD-126 Rota-Cone(tm) vacuum reactor has wide application for the crystallizing and drying of up to 500 cu. ft. of products at high temperatures and vacuum in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, mineral and allied industries. Additionally, it can crystallize and/or dry plastics such as PET, PBT, LCT and nylon.
The reactor is designed to operate at temperatures from 400° F to 500° F and at vacuums down to <0.2 torr. It includes a skid-mounted, high capacity, boosted liquid ring vacuum system in combination with a mechanical vacuum line seal to minimize air leakage and optimize performance. Additionally, a skid-mounted high temperature oil heating and circulating system is provided.
The 419 sq. ft. internal jacketed surface area and the gentle tumbling action of the slowly turning reactor vessel provide continuous fresh heated surface area for heat transfer while minimizing breakage of friable materials.
An 18-inch hinged cover with swing-away bolts facilitates loading and a 12-inch diameter pneumatically-actuated butterfly valve permits clean, rapid discharge. A jar sampler connection which accepts 4-inch diameter wide-mouth jars is included.
The double-cone reactor vessel is made of 304 stainless steel and all internal and external welds are continuous and ground smooth. To maintain correct product temperature during processing, an open, free-flowing heat exchange jacket with flow baffles is included.
All operations are managed from fully-equipped control panels.
