New Solenoid Valve Guide Available From Gems Sensors & Controls

Plainville, CT. Following the recent acquisition of Precision Dynamics (PreDyne), Gems Sensors & Controls has released a new Miniature Solenoid Valves & Fluidic Solutions Resource Guide, showcasing their new family of 2- and 3-way miniature solenoid valves. The Gems PreDyne line includes general-purpose, isolation, and cryogenic valves for a broad range of applications and industries. In addition to cataloging the entire line of valves, the literature contains valuable liquid and gas flow formulas, valve flow schematics, performance criteria, and application information that will aid engineers in selecting the right solenoid valve.

Being a true resource guide, it provides a convenient and easy to follow Valve Selection section to lead users in the process of sizing, selecting, and configuring the right solenoid valve for their application. The Guide also lists most of the options for each valve, which include a multitude of voltage and power ratings, orifice sizes, seal and body materials, port configurations, coil constructions, and other manufacturing choices such as vacuum or oxygen clean.

The product line's competitive advantage is being a custom solution, with each and every valve built-to-order and lead times of approximately three weeks; many times sooner. To support this process, another tool in the Guide is an Application Data Sheet, which enables users to easily request special requirements—custom body materials and custom coil windings are just two examples.

Earlier this year Gems Sensors acquired PreDyne—a leading manufacturer of custom miniature solenoid valves, manifolds assemblies, and fluidic systems—and has since renamed itself Gems Sensors & Controls. PreDyne valves and manifold assemblies continue to be manufactured at the New Britain, CT facility, and PreDyne's sales and engineering staff have now joined Gems to support the product line. The acquisition brings together PreDyne's 30 years of valve experience and the depth of Gems product development and manufacturing process. OEMs are now able to select one company with extensive design and manufacturing capabilities to build complete custom gas and liquid handling systems.
