Multi-Basket Duplex Pipeline Strainer

Systems that must strain fluids continuously at rates up to 30,000 gpm can use the Model 570 multi-basket duplex pipeline strainer. A sliding gate design permits the flow to be switched between either of two straining chamber to remain on line while baskets are removed from the other straining chamber for cleaning.

The use of four separate strainer baskets in each of the two chambers makes it easier for personnel to change baskets because each basket is much smaller and easier to handle than a single large basket.

The sliding gate valve contains a free-floating valve disc which is easily operated by handwheels. To protect it from the process fluid being conveyed, the valve operating system is fully enclosed.

Because of the multiple basket design, the duplex strainer has remarkably low initial pressure loss. To further cut down on pressure loss, each basket has a unique slanted open top that permits the fluid flow to enter more easily with reduced turbulence.

The multi-basket design also helps to reduce the overall size of the unit, thus making it suitable for installations where space is a problem.

The strainer is offered in pipeline sizes from 8 in. to 36 in., in a choice of iron or carbon steel construction with flanged piping connections.
