Monitor Model 8051 Communications Bridge is designed to enable devices within the facility to communicate with each other or to a central control station via RS232, Arcnet or Ethernet.
The Sierra Monitor Model 8051 Communications Bridge is designed for the industry to enable devices within the facility to communicate with each other or to a central control station via RS232, Arcnet or Ethernet. It makes possible the two-way communication between the building automation control unit, fire monitoring sytems and PC-based HMI programs such as Intellution or Wonderware, and other systems in the building.
The Model 8051 is a microprocessor-based device which has two 10BaseT Ethernet ports and ten serial ports (eight RS232 and two RS485). An internal ISA bus allows installation of commercially available protocol boards such as Modbus Plus or Arcnet. A ribbon connection cable enables the user to connect two Communication Bridges together for redundant hot standby configuration.
