Model TB82
TBI-Bailey, a unit of Elsag Bailey Process Automation, has released the Model TB82 Conductivity transmitter, the second instrument in its new "Advantage Series" of products designed for both field and panel mounting. The TB82 is compatible with all TBI-Bailey four-and two-electrode conductivity sensor technologies. Packaged in a cast aluminum NEMA 4X/IP 65 corrosion-resistant housing, it comes complete with advanced instrument and sensor diagnostics, including fouled sensor notification.
Temperature compensation inputs include 3k ohm Balco coil and 4.75k ohm elements. Several types of temperature compensation are available, including user-entered coefficient, user-entered temperature curve, standard automatic, pure water neutral salt, pure water trace base, pure water trace acid, 0-15% NaOH, 0-20% NaCl, 0-18% HC1, and 0-20% H2SO4. A user-selectable diagnostic spike is available on the output to alarm of any fault conditions by cycling the 4-20 mA output between high and low output values (patent pending).
The user interface consists of a large LCD display and multi-function soft keys that guide the user through configuration, calibration, and interrogation of the instrument (patent pending). Additional features of the microprocessor-based TB82 include direct display reading in percent of concentration for the most commonly measured chemicals, user-adjustable damping, configuration lockout, two security levels, future HART communications capability and a hold output feature for ease of calibration.
