Bruker NMR expands its line of revolutionary CryoProbes™ with the first commercial MicroCryoProbe, now available for samples in 3 mm NMR tubes. The MicroCryoProbe introduces the enormous benefits of Bruker's enabling and patented CryoProbe technology into small sample amount applications in biology, natural products and metabolism. There is great interest in preparing smaller test samples for NMR measurements as then less sample is used, and further, less solvent is required to bring the sample volume to the required levels.

The Bruker series of CryoProbes are based on cryogenically cooled receiver coils and electronics, and represent the greatest single quantum jump in sensitivity for NMR technology in decades. The MicroCryoProbe offers the following features:

  • 3mm 500 MHz probe for 1H and 13C detection
  • deuterium lock
  • actively shielded z-gradient
  • 5-fold S/N improvement over conventional probes
  • increase in throughput of ~ 25x

With the new 3 mm MicroCryoProbe, 5-fold sensitivity improvements are realized, leading to throughput gains of x25. Now NMR can make routine measurements in the nanogram range and allow previously unattainable experiments in the areas of structural genomics and proteomics, natural product and metabolite samples, and rapid screening for drug discovery and combichem.
