Lubricant Additives
(Naphthenate) Standard Grade
We built our company and reputation on this widely used E.P. additive. And we're still supplying the highest quality 30% Lead Naphthenate. Here's a brief review of the functions of this product:
- Acts as an extreme pressure additive for gear oils and greases.
- Acts as a lubricant inhibitor.
- Serves as polar surface activating and wetting agent for lubricant to metal.
- Improves film strength, oiliness, boundary lubrication, wear and lapping characteristics.
- Improves anti-seize, anti-scoring, anti-gelling and anti-weld characteristics.
- Serves as a rust-proofing agent.
- Serves as a pour-point depressant.
Light Color
This product was formulated specifically for light-colored gear oils that require Lead Naphthenate but where the light-color is important. The color is Union {NPA) 7, and it is free from iron or other metal contaminants. Our Special Light Colored 30% Lead Naphthenate performs the same functions as standard 30% Lead Naphthenate.
10% ZINC NAP-ALL
Formulated specifically for the lubricant industry, our 10% ZINC NAP-ALL has an oil carrier rather than the conventional solvent carrier usually contained in Zinc Naphthenate solutions. 10% ZINC NAP-ALL is widely used as a rustinhibiting additive in lubricants and undercoatings. Another common application is in petroleum lubricants for compressors and refrigerator systems where it acts to inhibit the formation of sludge and reduces wear scar.
14.5% ZINC NAP-ALL
This product is a pure naphthenate containing a maximum of Zinc without a carrier. While it performs the same basic functions as our 10% ZINC NAP-ALL@, it is highly resistant to oxidation; and it does offer advantages in certain areas of use. 14.5% Zinc Naphthenate has also been known to be used as a replacement for 30% Lead Naphthenate.
12% COPPER CEM-ALL
Our 12% COPPER CEM-ALL and other copper carboxylates have been incorporated in lubrication formulations in order to improve their antioxidation characteristics. In many formulations, the copper is more effective than some traditional amine antioxidants. This product has a very wide solubility range in numerous oils. It can be successfully combined with most of the other oil additives.
14% BISMUTH NAP-ALL
Bismuth Naphthenate is now available as an environmentally compatible substitute for Lead Naphthenate as an EP Additive for lube oils and greases. As is the case with Lead Naphthenate, the Bismuth Naphthenate should be
formulated together with organic sulfur compounds to improve its EP characteristics. Several other lubricant additives are currently under investigation and they are beginning to show promising results. These additives are low in toxicity and provide extreme pressure enhancement and friction reduction. Additional data will soon be available for the following additives:
- 20% BISMUTH TEN-CEM
- 28% BISMUTH HEX-CEM
- 30% COPPER CEM-ALL
- 15% MOLYBDENUM HEX-CEM
