LeoRonal and Shipley Merge, New Division Created
The former LeaRonal, Inc. was merged with the Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Division of the Shipley Company. The company also created Shipley Ronal division, which will serve the PWB, connector, semiconductor packaging and general surface finishing markets.
Shipley's parent company, Rohm and Haas, initiated a tender offer for LeoRonal on Dec. 23. Government and regulatory approvals were completed, and the offer was completes Jan. 22, with 96% of LeoRonal shares tendered at a price of $34 a share.
Pierre Brondeau, president of the Shipley Company, said that the future growth of the company will be structured around two divisions the Shipley Ronal Division and the Microelectronics division, which will continue to serve the semiconductor manufacturing market.
