Joint Venture To Expand A/C Anti-Corrosion Coating Services
Houston, TX - Executives of Houston Plating & Coatings (HP&C) and Diversified Mechanical Services (DMS) announced that, effective November 1, 2007, they have formed a joint venture, Gulf Coast Mechanical & Coatings (GCMC), to operate and expand the current DMS production facility. DMS provides custom anti-corrosion coating services utilizing Heresite through an exclusive license, as well as other mechanical services for commercial air conditioning and air handling units.
The venture brings together two firms with extensive experience and excellent reputations in providing anti-corrosion services.
Paul Brown, owner of DMS, will assume the role of President of the new company and have overall operating responsibilities. According to Brown, "Partnering with HP&C will give us the capital, expertise, and additional resources we need to capitalize on the opportunities provided by the Heresite immersion coating process. The company will undertake a major expansion of its present facilities while also constructing a completely new state of the art facility that will result in substantially increased production capabilities and dramatically reduced turn-around times. Our growth expectations are dramatic."
William Howard, CEO of HP&C, said, "We saw a great opportunity to expand the use of Heresite through improved production processes and to expand its application into new markets as well. Heresite sets the standard for corrosion protection of air conditioning and air handling units, and partnering with DMS gives us production expertise and an established client base."
Heresite is a flexible coating with excellent anti-corrosion and heat transfer capabilities and is the preferred coating for coating air conditioning fins and coils. It is a modified phenolic epoxy that uses a process that combines immersion and oven curing and is applied in one or more thin layers.
