JetMix Vortex Mixing System

An efficient and cost-effective system, JetMix was developed to overcome the common problems of a large, circular storage tank: dead spots, solids settling and high energy and maintenance costs. The design utilizes a simple water flow pattern that sweeps the entire area of the tank.

The system's components are not complex. Two rotating mixer nozzles rise from the bottom of the tank. Nozzle location, as well as the direction and velocity of the discharge, is configured to the specifications and applications of each particular tank. The result is a flow pattern that causes the contents to both revolve and rotate in a torridal (rolling doughnut) pattern. No part of a circular tank is exempt from this rolling helix pattern, so solids are suspended homogeneously.

Located externally, the pump offers easy access for scheduled maintenance. One pump can also be responsible for more than one tank, because of the effectiveness of the system's intermittent mixing capabilities. The driving pump can also be used for loading and unloading. This versatile system is also effective for controlling various liquid levels and maintaining aerobic conditions.

The benefit of the JetMix system are straightforward: increased mixing efficiency, reduced operating costs due to simple and accessible equipment, and simplified maintenance.

A variety of modular systems can easily be retrofitted to both above and in ground installations. The system used for several applications including biosolids storage, anaerobic digestion, chemical mixing, process appliations, flow equalization and leachate storage.
