Jacobs Receives Citgo Alliance Contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Houston, TX) has signed a multiyear, multisite alliance contract with Citgo Petroleum Corp. The agreement calls for an alliance approach to delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction management services at Citgo refineries in Corpus Christi, TX; Lemont, IL; and Lake Charles, LA.

Jacobs will begin work immediately on a series of projects at the three refineries. The expected contract value exceeds $100 million over a 5-year period.

For the past 6 years, Jacobs was an alliance partner with Citgo at its Lake Charles refinery. The new contract expands Jacobs' relationship with the company, one of North America's fastest growing refiners.

"Citgo's relationship with Jacobs in the past has been excellent," says Citgo development and technological excellence SVP Jerry E. Thompson. "This new alliance allows us to take full advantage of the firm's expertise at all of our major refinery operations."

"This new contract not only extends the breadth of our alliance to include two additional refineries, but also expands our alliance relationship -- making Jacobs a key participant in meeting Citgo's return on capital employed goals," says Jacobs group operations VP Robert M. Clement, who is also the Citgo alliance executive sponsor.
