Intergraph unveils SmartSketch LE for modular 2D CAD

A la carte advantage makes precision drafting, drawing, and diagramming more cost-effective

SmartSketch 3.0 LE, modular 2D precision drafting, diagramming and drawing software, is now available for purchase on the Web, the Process & Building Solutions division of Intergraph Corporation (Huntsville, AL) announced.

SmartSketch LE and six modules are offered online for purchase and immediate download from www.SmartSketch.com/store. Industry- and task-specific modules, integration with Microsoft Office and MathSoft MathCAD and parametric drawing capability coupled with Web delivery make SmartSketch LE unique among cost-effective 2D CAD programs.

Modular flexibility, precision and specialized resources provide users with the exact functionality required for specific tasks. "Smart" tools and the inviting interface fulfill most 2D requirements of anyone who needs to produce precise, finished drawings, diagrams or technical illustrations.

SmartSketch LE provides core functionality for parametric, dimension-driven design and includes intuitive drawing features presented in a streamlined, uncomplicated user interface. The SmartSketch LE core application is powerful as a stand-alone precision 2D CAD program for many design, drawing, business diagramming and technical illustration tasks.

The Process Solutions module streamlines engineering and 2D design tasks for process plants. With industry-specific templates, toolbars and 2,800 symbols, engineers can create block diagrams, PFDs and P&IDs and other single- or double-line schematics. Users can also create precision ortho piping drawings and plot plans as well as generate component reports.

With the Web Publishing module, users can hyperlink any SmartSketch LE drawing object including vector graphics, text, raster images and symbols, save the drawing as a Web page and publish it to the Net. The module quickly makes drawings easily accessible for efficient Web review or for technical illustration without a separate HTML authoring tool.
