Olin Chlor Alkali Products manufactures aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl) often called muriatic acid or burner acid, which is produced by the thermal reaction of hydrogen and chlorine. This inherently clean process produces a product suitable for most uses requiring high-purity hydrochloric acid.

HCl is used in steel, oil & gasoline, pharmaceutical, calcium chloride, and plastics manufacturing, food processing, organic chemical synthesis, water & wastewater treatment, ore & mineral processing, brine treatment and artificial sweetener industries.

Olin Chlor Alkali Products offers HCl in three grades (Technical, Food and Electronic) and in three concentrations (20°, 22°, and 23° Be').

Storage and handling
Hydrochloric acid should be stored in a cool (below 38°C, 100°F) clean, well- ventilated area, in properly constructed tanks suitable for hydrochloric acid service. Rubber-lined steel tanks can give excellent performance. Storage requirements will vary depending upon tank size, storage temperature and process requirements
