HTS-XT (High Throughput Screening eXTension)

Source: Bruker Optics Inc.
The HTS-XT (High Throughput Screening eXTension) can analyze samples in either transmission or diffuse reflection mode, selectable via computer control.
Bruker Optics now offers an external accessory for automated infrared spectroscopic analysis of samples directly in micro titer plates. The HTS-XT (High Throughput Screening eXTension) can analyze samples in either transmission or diffuse reflection mode, selectable via computer control. The module can accommodate 96, 384 and 1536 well plates, which are available in ZnSe or Si for transmission and/or roughened metal for diffuse reflection.

The specialized design of the HTS-XT provides accurate diffuse reflection measurements by effectively removing the specular reflected light. A motorized drawer mechanism inserts the plate into the module, where the plate is moved such that each well is placed in the focus of the IR beam for analysis. For use in the NIR region the unit can be equipped with a PbS or InGaAs detector.

This accessory is ideal for laboratories that have a large sample throughput, and it can be used to analyze a wide range of chemical compounds. Key applications include drug screening, qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological fluids, cell identification and solid phase chemistry.
