Hot Tap, Line Stop, Hi-Stop, and Freeze Stop Services
Two 2500 psig (at 400°F) hot taps were successfully completed recently on 6" carbon steel pipes utilized for carbon dioxide (CO2) service for a West Texas pipeline company.
Temperature ranges for hot taps also were extended recently to 1350°F (from 1200°F) when HTS personnel successfully tapped a horizontal vessel with an uncontrolled flow of hydrocarbons.
The high temperature tap was completed through a 3/4" outside shell of carbon steel, 4" of refractory lining, a 1/2" stainless steel shell, and 3/4" of hex mesh abrasion-resistant material inside the stainless steel.
Additionally, successful HiStops have been completed on two 6" boiler feedwater lines in seperate plants. One line was flowing 1650 gpm (22 ft/sec) at 2100 psig and 400°F; the other was at 2300 psig and 350°F.
Team engineers can extend HiStop temperatures to 1200°F, and the hot tap pressures to 4300 psig (296 BAR) if needed.
Two and one-half decades of engineering and onsite experience at solving HTHP hot tap and line stop problems safely has earned Team the reputation as the finest sole source provider of these services in the world.
