HK Research Corporation was born in 1980 to fill a niche in the FRP and Cultured Marble industries. The need was for an innovator to develop a gel coat with better properties than had been seen to date. We accomplished this task by introducing 100% NPG® Isophthalic technology to the polyester fabrication industry.

With our 20th anniversary behind us, HK has become an acknowledged leader in the development and production of only the highest quality gel coats. But, we are not satisfied to stand still. Our dedication to R&D dictates that we constantly strive to develop new and innovative products. Recently we introduced two new coatings to the marine industry with properties that were never before believed possible. HK's commitment to research made it possible.
