Gems Sensors offers a leak proof version of the FS-380 Series compact in-line flow switch. The new design features a stainless steel housing with 3/8 in. compression fitting connections that eliminate NPT thread leaks. Ideal for Semicon applications such as process module cooling and chiller/heat exchangers; it avoids costly fluid losses and process downtime from leaks. The switch delivers virtually debris-free operation in pressures of up to 1,500 PSI and requires only 150-micron filtration. It is less susceptible to clogging than other high-pressure flow switches because it is an in-line flow switch.
The series offers flow rate settings of 0.25 to 1.50 GPM. Set point accuracy is ± 20% maximum, with a set point differential of only 20% maximum. Switches perform with a low 2.1 PSI (0.14 bar) @ 3 GPM pressure drop. They operate in temperatures ranging from –20ºF to +275ºF (-28.8ºC to +135ºC).
Wetted parts include a one-piece magnetic PPS composite piston equipped with a 316 stainless steel spring, and fluorocarbon o-ring.
Switches use hermetically-sealed, magnetically actuated SPST reed switches that are rated at 20VA. Its electrical termination is No. 22 AWG with 24 in. to 26 in. Polymeric leads.
