Hexion Specialty Chemicals To Raise Epoxy Resin Prices In Asia

Columbus, OH - Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc. will increase the prices for all of its epoxy resins in Asia by the following amounts, effective May 1. This price increase is in addition to price increases announced in March.

Base Epoxy Resins - 100 USD/mt
Brominated Resins - 100 USD/mt
Epoxylated High Performance Resins - 200 USD/mt
Epoxylated Novolacs - 150 USD/mt
Reactive Diluents - 150 USD/mt

"The cost for epichlorohydrin (ECH), a key raw material for epoxy resins, has been increasing significantly due to the extreme tight supply situation for ECH. The effect of cumulative cost increases in ECH since the beginning of 2006 necessitates these epoxy resin price increases to ensure security of supply to our customers," said Lars Boetje, Business Manager, Base Epoxy Resins & Intermediates - Asia-Pacific.
