Filamentous Toroidal Helix Packing
The #3 Type K Tellerette filamentous toroidal helix packing features 354 interstitial hold-up points for performance efficiency over traditional shapes. This new design offers better mass transfer, up to 25% pressure drop and lower price per cubic foot than comparable packing. The patented open, filamentous shape of the Tellerette enhances performance through inertial impaction and eliminates orifices where solids can drop out and accumulate.
Gas absorption efficiencies are 20% higher than other packings because of the natural agglomeration/dispersion cycle that continuously exposes fresh liquid surface to the gas flow. The design constantly renews the liquid surface at no additional cost in energy, reduces operating costs, and increases process capacities. The larger size of the #3-K offers all of the advantages of the Tellerette design with the added benefits of 30% increase in gas-flow capacity, high column stability, and no classic flooding or channeling. The open design and larger size offers the opportunity to achieve higher efficiency at greater gas flow speeds, which means smaller towers and lower costs.
