Emerson Releases New Zero Drift Diagnostic For Use On Brooks Instrument Mass Flow Controllers
First-of-its-kind diagnostic tool alerts users to out-of-limits condition
Hatfield, PA - Emerson Process Management announces the release of a new diagnostic tool which detects and alerts users when the flow sensor on Brooks Instrument mass flow controllers (MFCs) experiences zero-drift of more than user specified limits. The Zero Drift Diagnostic is an advanced tool now available for the Brooks Model 7950S MFC. This unique feature monitors the flow signal during no-flow conditions, and then utilizes the Model 7950S alarms to notify the user when an out-of-limits condition has been detected.
Zero drift can be accurately detected because the diagnostic in Brooks MFCs has the ability to monitor both positive and negative flow signals, giving users a higher level of confidence that the process has not shifted. Brooks' products have long been revered for their resistance to zero drift over long periods of time. Now Emerson is the first supplier to prove the stability of its mass flow controllers with this new software diagnostic tool.
A configuration tool application is provided that allows the user to customize the Zero Drift Diagnostic using a personal computer connected to the Model 7950S service port.
