DuPont to Build New PVA Bulk Handling Facility in SC

Adding to its existing Greenville, SC warehouse, DuPont has purchased eight acres of land in Laurens, SC for construction of a new bulk handling facility for its Elvanol polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Elvanol PVA is a water-soluble polymer used in textile warp sizing and other applications. The company plans to move its bulk handling operation to the new Laurens site.

DuPont's latest investment in its PVA business follows news in 1997 that the company had begun a series of technology and facility upgrades at its PVA manufacturing plant in LaPorte, TX aimed at boosting output by approximately 20%.
