Dow Displays Its Commitment To Innovation And Sustainability At NPE 2009
Chicago, IL - The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") recently unveiled its multi-pronged presence at The International Plastics Showcase, NPE 2009, taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago on June 22-26, 2009:
- New product and service demonstrations. Dow is launching multiple products and service platforms at NPE. Attendees will also have the opportunity to touch and see new resins and prototypes at 10 different locations on the show floor.
- Sponsorships and technical presentations. Dow is one of the top conference sponsors, and is a gold sponsor of the Sustainability sector in SPI's Emerging Technology Pavilion. Three technical presentations will be offered about sustainability attributes associated with plastic applications.
"It has been a challenging year for the plastics industry, but Dow's focus on first-class service and high-quality product solutions has not changed," said Glenn Wright, commercial vice president for Dow's North American Basic Plastics business. "Dow is right here, right now, and right for our customers. We'll be demonstrating our dedication to our customers through a personalized and collaborative effort at NPE this year."
NEW PRODUCT AND SERVICE DEMONSTRATIONS
Dow will launch the following product and service platforms during NPE this year:
- CONTINUUM EP High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Resins for blow molding including XDMDA-6630 Experimental EP HDPE for blow molded bottles and XDMDA-6670 Experimental EP HDPE for large part blow molded parts such as drums
- Film products that offer better optics, improved toughness and faster processing:
- DOWLEX NG Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) Resins: XUS 61530.02 and XUS 61530.04 LLDPE Resins
- ATTANE NG (Next Generation) 4701G and 4703G Ultra Linear Low Density Polyethylene (ULDPE) Resins
- XUS 60019.90 Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Resin specially designed for increased throughput in blown film applications in blends with LLDPE
- The Dow Film Application Development Center with new 7 – Layer Blown Film Line Capability
- High clarity polypropylene products: INSPIRE 222 Performance Polymers for thermoforming applications
- New Impact copolymer grades with FDA expanded Food Contact status: DC7072.00 Developmental Polypropylene and DC7054.00 Developmental Polypropylene Resins for use in injection molding applications
- DOW HEALTH+ Polymers platform for both Rigid Packaging and Health & Hygiene marketplace applications
Ten global equipment manufacturers will be featuring a wide array of Dow's product portfolio including new resins on their machines at NPE in McCormick Place this year. Customers may visit a variety of exhibits to find out how Dow products may be applied in their current and future product applications.
"It is often more beneficial for a customer to see the final application and watch our resins being processed versus reading through a technical data sheet," Wright said. "We've invested our resources in a few nontraditional ways to make this possible and hope that our customers and colleagues will find it to be a useful format."
