Dow Corning Launches New Process Aid For Chemical Pulping

Midland, TX - Dow Corning Corporation, one of the leading suppliers of innovative silicone solutions for the pulp and paper industry, recently introduced a new process aid for chemical pulping - Dow Corning AF-7500 PulpAid Concentrate.

Dow Corning AF-7500 PulpAid Concentrate is a high solids emulsion formulated from advanced silicone antifoam compound technologies and complies with FDA and BfR indirect food contact recommendations. This silicone antifoam concentrate is designed for easy dilution with either tap water or demineralized water, along with a small amount of an antimicrobial agent, to produce stable, lower-solids emulsions.

"This product offers outstanding foam control," said Jim Habermehl, Dow Corning technical specialist. "Dow Corning AF-7500 PulpAid Concentrate requires only simple mixing with dilution water - eliminating the need for extensive product scale-up time and the need for costly production equipment.

"Dow Corning is a technology innovator focused on the global pulp, tissue, and paper recycling industry," Habermehl said. "Formulators and their customers can count on us to provide innovative, integrated solutions that improve product performance, increase productivity, and lower costs. Dow Corning AF-7500 PulpAid Concentrate is just one example of how we use proactive, creative thinking to develop products that meet exact customer needs."

In addition to antifoam concentrates, emulsions, and compounds, Dow Corning offers other proven pulp and paper solutions.
