Dow Announces Price Increase For Propylene Glycols

Midland, MI - The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") will increase all list and off-list prices for dipropylene glycol regular grade (DPG) and dipropylene glycol LO+ grade (DPG LO+) by $0.05/lb in the Americas and the Caribbean, effective May 1, 2006.

In addition, effective immediately through June 30, 2006, Dow is establishing a 90% order control based on purchases of DPG and DPG LO+ in the last 12 months.

"Dipropylene glycol is currently tight on a global basis and energy and raw material prices remain high," said Antulio Borneo, global commercial director, Dow Oxides and Glycols. "These factors, combined with sustained demand for DPG and limited supply due to planned shutdowns at three of our propylene glycol manufacturing sites, contribute to our need to raise our prices and establish order control."

Dow, with a global capacity of more than one billion pounds, is the industry leader in the manufacture of propylene glycol.

Dow offers propylene oxide, monopropylene glycol (MPG), dipropylene glycol (DPG) and tripropylene glycol (TPG) globally.
