Dow Announces March 1 Price Increases For Oxygenated Solvents
Midland, MI - In response to rising raw material costs, The Dow Chemical Company announced yesterday that it will raise the off-schedule prices on a number of its Oxygenated Solvents products in North America effective March 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. The products affected by this price increase are noted below.
Product | Off-Schedule Increase | Schedule Price |
Isopropanol | $0.04/lb | $0.80 |
2-Ethylhexoic Acid | $0.04/lb | $1.13 |
2-Ethylhexanol | $0.04/lb | $1.03 |
n-Butanol | $0.04/lb | $0.94 |
Isobutanol | $0.04/lb | $0.94 |
"Due to the escalating costs for raw materials, the margins on our products have eroded to unacceptable levels," says Pat Gottschalk, global business director, Solvents & Intermediates. "The only way to improve our margins is to increase the price of our products."
