Dow Announces March 1 Price Increases For Oxygenated Solvents

Midland, MI - In response to rising raw material costs, The Dow Chemical Company announced yesterday that it will raise the off-schedule prices on a number of its Oxygenated Solvents products in North America effective March 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. The products affected by this price increase are noted below.

Product Off-Schedule Increase Schedule Price
Isopropanol $0.04/lb $0.80
2-Ethylhexoic Acid $0.04/lb $1.13
2-Ethylhexanol $0.04/lb $1.03
n-Butanol $0.04/lb $0.94
Isobutanol $0.04/lb $0.94

"Due to the escalating costs for raw materials, the margins on our products have eroded to unacceptable levels," says Pat Gottschalk, global business director, Solvents & Intermediates. "The only way to improve our margins is to increase the price of our products."
