Dow Announces Epoxy Resin Price Increases In North America

Midland, MI - Dow Epoxy, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow"), is raising list and off-list prices for D.E.R. liquid, liquid blends, solid, solid solution and brominated epoxy resins by $0.06 per pound in North America. Prices for D.E.N. epoxy novolac resins and D.E.H. epoxy curing agents will also rise by $0.06 per pound in the region.

These increases are effective August 1, 2006, or as contract terms allow. All other terms and conditions of sale for products affected by these price increases remain unchanged.

The increases are in addition to the previously announced epoxy resin price increases in North America that became effective on July 1, 2006.

Dow says the increase is driven by volatile raw material costs and tight supply/demand conditions globally. In light of these market conditions, the company says it will be carefully monitoring order volumes for the remainder of July.

Customers interested in learning more about the price increases should contact their local Dow sales representative.
