Dense Phase Systems

Smoot Company systems are best used when conveying highly abrasive products and those subject to degradation. Smoot Company uses high pressure, high rate, low velocity to convey product. Unlike dilute phase systems, there is not an airlock feeder for product introduction into the convey line. Smoot Company uses a pressure vessel or transmitter to feed product directly into the convey line.

A key feature of the Smoot Company pneumatic conveying system is the air management system. By the bypass valve, product-to-air ratio as the product is discharged from the transmitter is accurately controlled. This system eliminates the need for expensive boosters or trace air lines. An existing booster system can be retrofitted with the air sanagement system.

The Smoot Company system can be made continuous by the addition of a second vessel. The vessel can be added in a vertical stack-up or side by side position. Smoot Company conveying is used in many applications: from rail car unloading - pit-to-storage silos, in-plant transfer systems, batch & weighing systems, dust collection transfer systems and many others.
