Dayton Superior Acquires Conspec

Dayton Superior Corp. (Dayton, OH) has acquired Conspec Marketing & Manufacturing Co., Inc., a manufacturer of construction chemicals under the Conspec and Edoco names. The $22 million company operates manufacturing sites in Kansas City, KS, and Long Beach, CA.

Conspec also gives us a critical construction chemicals manufacturing presence on the West Coast," says Dayton Superior chairman/president/CEO John "Chic" Ciccarelli. The acquisition also enhances the growing chemicals business of Dayton Superior, North America's largest manufacturer of metal accessories and forms for concrete and masonry construction.

Since 1994, Dayton Superior has made thirteen acquisitions, not counting Conspec. It is owned by an affiliate of Odyssey Investment Partners, and had 1999 revenues of $322 million.
