CP FlowMeter
The bulk solids supplied from above are directed on a curved measuring chute. According to Newton's laws of motion, this radial movement results in a centrifugal force in an outward direction and an identical opposed centripetal force towards the center of the circle as the counterforce keeping the bulk solids in their circular motion. Being in direct proportion to the throughput, the centripetal force is dynamically measured by a load cell and transmitted to the Congrav evaluation unit as a continuous metering signal, where the throughput is both displayed and issued as a dynamic actual value signal.
The external fulcrum of the measuring chute through which the centripetal force acts on the load cell is arranged so as to compensate frictionand flow rate fluctuations.
As an option, the flowmeter is available equipped with an additional measuring system to meter the flow velocity of the bulk solids.
The working principle is not subject to the disadvantages typically found with impact plates and ensures high metering accuracy independent from the bulk solids flow characteristics. Combined with an upstream variable speed feeding unit (screw feeder, rotary valve, etc.) controlled by the actual value signal, the flowmeter can be used for continuous proportioning. Complete configurations of that kind can be supplied.
