Corrpro Acquires Corexco Technology

Corrpro Companies, Inc. recently announced that it has acquired the remote monitoring electronics and software technology developed by Corexco Consulting Services, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Remote monitoring provides companies with a cost-effective way to monitor the operational status of their corrosion protection systems. Data is collected by the remote monitoring unit and then transmitted utilizing various communications channels, including cellular phones and low earth-orbiting satellites.

Remote monitoring reduces or eliminates the need for companies to send personnel on-site in order to monitor corrosion protection systems on a variety of structures, including pipelines, storage tanks and reinforced concrete structures. Data collected via the remote monitoring units can also be utilized by Corrpro's existing risk assessment and management software in order to provide customers with a comprehensive corrosion monitoring program.

As part of this transaction, Corrpro also acquired a 70% interest in a corrosion engineering company in France and a 50% interest in a corrosion engineering company in Colombia.

Corrpro is a provider of corrosion control engineering services, systems and equipment to the infrastructure, environmental and energy markets.
