Compact Liquid Chillers
York, PA - GEA PHE Systems North America CH Series liquid chillers offer significant performance advantages over traditional shell/tube chillers along with compact size, up to as much as 80% smaller than other types of heat exchangers. These units are utilized in air conditioning and industrial chillers, glycol and special fluid coolers and a wide range of other refrigeration applications. The compact size allows smaller overall total equipment packaging, simplifies installation and is easily insulated.
Three model ranges are offered for applications from 1/2 tons to 60 tons: 5" x 12" models are available from 1/2 to 5 tons, 5" x 20" models from 1.5 to 15 tons and 10" x 20" models from 10 to 60 tons. The true counterflow design provides a sustained performance over a wider range of flow rates and design conditions. Standard units chill water from -54 to +50F evaporating temperatures. The CH Series provides strong performance characteristics even in low temperature applications. The units are significantly lighter in weight than other types of designs, the 1/2 ton unit at 6 pounds up to the 60 ton unit at 176 pounds.
The unique design differs significantly from other typical plate heat exchangers. Stainless steel plates feature a high efficiency heat transfer surface and are brazed at high temperature. GEA FlatPlate CH Series design allows proper DX gas distribution into the plates for stable performance and capacity control at either full or part-load conditions. Dedicated refrigeration design features standard connection sizes and standard sweat fittings along with a top sealing plate to prevent moisture build-up.
All models and units in the CH Series are UL listed, rated for 450 psi working pressure and manufactured in the USA. GEA FlatPlate offers various options, standard and custom units as well as application support.
