Clorox Chooses Rockwell Software For Plant Automation Upgrades

Rockwell Automation (West Allis, WI) says that the Clorox Co. has chosen to use its human-machine interface (HMI) software products for recent automation upgrades at plants in Springfield, OR, Burnside, KY, and Aberdeen, MD, and at the Clorox Technical Center in Pleasanton, CA.

At its Springfield and Burnside facilities, Clorox chose the RSView32 HMI system as replacement for existing DOS-based installations. The system will monitor process and packaging lines that produce Kingsford brand charcoal products.

In Pleasanton, Clorox is using the RSView32 system at its corporate technical facility, both in power plant monitoring and R&D operations. The Aberdeen facility has implemented an RSView32 solution on process and packaging lines that produce various Clorox household products.

According to Rockwell, RSView32 is a flexible, scaleable HMI, built on the latest Microsoft technology for ease of use and interoperability with other software running throughout the manufacturing enterprise. Clorox chose the Rockwell Software solutions based on their ease of configuration and integration, ability to be scaled to fit the needs of the individual application and Rockwell Automation's support capabilities. Based on the success of these projects, Clorox is exploring additional upgrades at several facilities around the country.

RSView32 is available both as a standalone product and as part of the Rockwell Software ProcessPak, which combines RSView32 with programming, communications and batch to create an integrated solution.

Rockwell Automation is a business unit of Rockwell International Corp., whose other automation brands include Allen-Bradley controls, Reliance Electric power transmission products and Dodge mechanical power transmission components.
