Clariant International announces organizational and personnel changes

Clariant International Ltd. would like to inform you about the following organizational and personnel changes:

Effective after the Annual General Meeting of May 16, 2001 Corporate Affairs are allocated as follows:

• Investor Relations (Philipp Hammel), Legal (Herbert Wohlmann), Human Resources (Dominik von Bertrab), Information Technology (Manfred Braml) und Corporate Communications (Walter Vaterlaus) are reporting directly to Reinhard Handte.
  
• Corporate Auditing (Camille Grieder) is allocated administratively to Reinhard Handte.
  
• Corporate ESHA (Günter Laubert) is reporting to Peter Brandenberg.
  
• Ian Wilson, Development Manager Division Life Science & Electronic Chemicals, will assume responsibility for the newly created corporate function Corporate Development, Strategic Planning & Regional Coordination in Muttenz, effective May 1, 2001. He is reporting directly to Reinhard Handte.

Pigments & Additives division

• Fritz Brenzikofer, Head of Pigments business unit, will assume responsibility for the Additives business unit, effective June 1, 2001.
  
• Heiner Mehrtens, Head of Europe business unit of the Masterbatches division, will assume responsibility for the Pigments business unit, effective June 1, 2001.
  
• Uwe Nickel, Head of TS Azo Pigments, will take over with immediate effect responsibility for Pigments Technology from Frank Schmidt, who will join Allessa Chemie in Cassella-Offenbach.

Masterbatches division

• Rudolf Staab, Head of Additives business unit of the Pigments & Additives division, will assume responsibility for the Europe business unit, effective June 1, 2001.

Life Science & Electronic Chemicals division

• François Darrort, Chief Operating Officer of the Division, will take over with immediate effect and additionally to his current duties responsibility for the Specialty Intermediates business unit ad interim from Dirk Thomas, who will join Allessa Chemie in Cassella-Offenbach.
