Version 5 of the CIS Chemical Inventory Systems provides enhancements that automatically link the inventory system to useful reference and e-commerce services. With this new capability, users who have searched available inventory and identified the need to purchase a chemical can immediately search for and order online. The new version also provides links to reference databases including TSCA, with over 60,000 chemicals regulated by OSHA and the EPA, and ECID (Everybody's Chemical Inventory Database), a widely-used reference tool which includes hazard classifications and NFPA values on over 50,000 commonly-used chemicals. These database links are accessible from any of the CIS configurations -- desktop, client server or web-based.
