Chemengsoftware.com releases software for jacketed vessel heat transfer calculations

TANKJKT is new software for modeling heat transfer in jacketed tanks. Half-pipe coil, dimple, and conventional jacket; internal coils; and a variety of agitators are supported. The program estimates heat transfer coefficients, calculates pressure drop through the jacket, and calculates the rate of heating or cooling. A timeline can be automatically generated that depicts temperature over time.

Physical properties for more than 100 jacket fluids are included; the program automatically obtains properties from the database, calculated at the jacket temperature. Properties for common vessel and lining materials are also included.

TANKJKT is designed for ease-of-use with all data entry confined to a single worksheet. Results are presented on customizable datasheets. Calculation datasets can be saved for reuse, saving time when repetitive cases are run.
