Howell, MI (PRWEB) -- Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, announced today that it has launched a unique purging compound for the thermoplastic industry. Lusin® (pronounced LooSEEN) Clean 1500 is specifically formulated to address production challenges faced by manufacturers of polycarbonate-based products, such as automotive headlight covers. Its launch comes on the heels of other recently introduced Lusin® brand products, Lusin® Clean G410, Lusin® Clean G315, and Lusin® Protect G31.
Lusin® Clean 1500 is a unique purging compound that is polycarbonate-based, enabling it to work more effectively when purging screw, cylinder, nozzle and hot runner systems used to manufacture polycarbonate products. Specifically, Lusin® Clean 1500 interacts with polycarbonate resins to provide the most effective removal of black carbon specks that could contaminate subsequent product runs. It also eliminates the milky streak defects that can occur as a new product run begins.
Chem-Trend says that extensive field trials in production settings indicate that the new product is proven to increase efficiencies and decrease downtime, thereby decreasing costs.
"Reductions in scrap rates and downtime during changeover has the potential of saving high-volume manufacturers millions of dollars," said René Graewe, Chem-Trend's recently named global business development director for Thermoplastic.
Used mostly in the automotive industry, Lusin® Clean 1500 is also ideally suited for use by producers of clear materials for the food packaging and household markets that demand a high degree of clarity. It can also be used in the manufacture of color polycarbonate products, where complete purging is critical prior to introducing a new color.
Developed over a two-year period, Lusin® Clean 1500 is the latest addition to an expanding line of Lusin® brand products designed to meet the unique needs of Chem-Trend customers. Each product has been developed after careful analysis of process challenges faced by customers, a signature trait of the Chem-Trend research and development process.
